Mr. Jason Makansi, author of a newly released book "Lights Out", shared his view of the approaching electricity crisis, the global economy, and what it means to us all, at the Chattanooga Engineer's Club meeting on Monday, July 9, 2007.
Makansi, a graduate chemical engineer, is active in national energy and power generation/transmission forums including IEEE, EPRI, the History Channel and various technical publications. He presents a broad knowledge and assessment of our nation's energy situation. His latest book received great reviews and is available on Amazon.com. He also has an earlier book-signing Friday evening July 6, 7 pm at Rock Creek Books in downtown Chattanooga. The Club was founded in 1924 to promote the exchange of ideas and technical knowledge. Meetings are held weekly at the Cellar (basement level, Tallan Building) in downtown Chattanooga to hear speakers present various topics relevant to engineering as well as to medical, political, community and other topics of general interest to the members. The meetings are held every Monday, (except on national holidays) from noon till 1:00 p.m. Optional luncheon is served, at a cost of $11.00.
