Leadership Chattanooga celebrates the Graduation and civic accomplishments of it's 2007 class during a banquet luncheon at the Chattanoogan.
Leadership Chattanooga is a 10-month leadership development program that identifies people of promise in early– or mid–career, familiarizes them with community issues and services and develops their leadership skills to prepare them for prominent business, cultural and political roles. The program sponsored by the Chattanooga Chamber Foundation is informative, challenging and motivational, providing interaction with the community’s top leadership, experiential learning opportunities and community service team projects.
Class sessions focus on topics such as economic development, education, arts and quality of life, state government, justice and law enforcement, neighborhoods, community planning and civic and political leadership. Field experiences include joining Chattanooga police on patrol duty and meeting with state leaders in Nashville. During the 23-year history of the Chamber’s Leadership Chattanooga program, more than 740 individuals have completed the class, and many of them have assumed business, government and civic leadership roles. Selections for the 2007-2008 class are currently being made by the selection committee. Nominations for the 2008-2009 class will be accepted in February and March 2008.
