Friday, February 2, 2007, was national Wear Red Day, a simple and powerful way to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke. At the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Public Library, the American Heart Association kicked off Chattanooga’s Wear Red Day.
It may be surprising to hear, but heart disease is still the number killer of women in the United States. One in 2.6 female deaths are from cardiovascular disease, compared to one in 30 from breast cancer. Even in light of those statistics, many women don’t take care of their hearts. Go Red for Women wants to change that.
